Faith based conference looks at critical issues

A regional conference is underway in Nadi to enhance cooperation.
This is to better cooperation among churches, governments and civil society organisations in the Pacific, address environmental and developmental challenges.
Pacific Conference of Churches General Secretary Reverend James Bhagwan says the aim is to assist the churches address the health conditions of the people, issues of security, gender, political violence and the degradation of the environment.
He says faith based organizations and representatives for the government will discuss issues affecting the people.
“The aim of the discussion to develop a Regional network of churches and civil society. To also find alternative development options to address that ecological and development crisis in the Pacific.”
With the theme reweaving the Ecological Mat, participants will look at issues and solutions that have an impact lives.
