April 23, 2015 7:15 pm

Police have deployed additional officers to patrol the greater part of Suva ahead of the Coca Cola Games today.

Police Chief Operations Rusiate Tudravu has urged students and spectators to enjoy the games responsibly.

I just want to say that the police are vigilant and they will be there, should there be any case reported to us or within our site then we will have to make an arrest.}

Tudravu says they will be on alert for any activity that may instigate student brawls and they will also monitor internet cafes, night clubs and buses.

The police special group Ready Action Unit will be duty around the city.

Police operations will see them monitoring the ANZ Stadium as well as spots where student brawls have occurred in the past.

Buses have also been organized to operate from the Stadium instead of the main bus station a known hot spot to cater for students travelling as far as Nausori.
