After a year of Parliament, MPs can expect more work and more scrutiny of the skills they acquired since the general elections.
With more than 16 new laws expected to be introduced along with several acts up for review, Secretary General to Parliament Viniana Namosimalua says the workload will be a good testing ground.
“As you heard in the speech, there will alot more legislation so that’ll be interesting because that’ll actually help the members of parliament to put what they have leanrt into practice in terms of scrutiny of the government, scrutiny of what ever reports are brought before the committees.”
First up though on the agenda, parliament is scheduled to meet from Monday to respond to the President’s address, in October, the House will appoint a new President and a month later it’s the national budget.
