Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has revealed work on the Nausori Airport extension will begin soon.

Bainimarama confirmed a deal between the iTaukei Land Trust Board, Airports Fiji Limited and the landowners has been finalised.

However, the Prime Minister did not reveal when the development will begin.

“For sometimes, AFL, landowners and TLTB have been talking for the extension of the Nausori Airport. Just last week, I was informed that a deal has been set between TLTB, Landowners and AFL so we should see commencement of the extension of Nausori Airport soon.”

FBC News understands some of the leases will be leased through the TLTB and the others through the Ministry of Lands.

Bainimarama was responding to a question posed by a Nausori resident during the annual religious gathering at the temple.
