Export of Services increase by 9.5 percent

Latest figures released by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics estimates total export of services for the June quarter last year was over $681 million.

It is an increase of $59.1m or 9.5 percent when compared to a year earlier.

The statistics also show an increase of $4.6m in total import of services in the same quarter.

Travel services recorded an increase of $27.4 million, reflecting higher earnings from tourism.

Transport services also recorded an increase of $48.8 million whereas government services decreased by $6.1m.
