The heavy rain currently experienced around the country should start easing from later today but the weather office is warning that until then, the possibility of flooding remains.

A heavy rain warning is still in force for Western Vitilevu, Beqa, Kadavu, Vatulele and nearby islands.

As for Vanualevu, the weather office says heavy downpours can be expected from later tonight that could lead to flooding of low lying areas.

It says a trough of low pressure is moving over the country and is expected to intensify and bring more rain.
