Fiji Sugar Corporation chief operating officer, Navin Chandra, says it is exciting times for the industry.

The government has allocated sixty million dollars to the Sugar Ministry.

Chandra says the allocations for the industry is in line with their strategic plans.

“Very excited about the budget – I think the government of today has delivered a very solid commitment and through the budget has demonstrated the real things that needs to be targeted for the growers. So I believe it is really looking at cost for the growers as you know FSC’s strategy is about reducing the costs and there is a lot of effort and money being put to directly benefit the growers.”

Chandra says the FSC will work closely with the farmers to ensure they enjoy the benefits.
