Exchange programme to boost secretariat role

October 19, 2017 5:25 pm

In a bid to boost the parliamentary secretariat roles, a learning exchange is being undertaken by the staff of Fiji Parliament and the Parliament of Tonga.

The south-south learning exchange is generally a platform for parliamentary staff to share knowledge.

In welcoming the Tongan delegation, Secretary-General to Parliament, Viniana Namosimalua says this is an opportunity to learn from each other and identify areas to improve.

The exchange will cover areas such as information technology, human resource management experiences, management of parliamentary business, effective servicing of standing committees, effective Parliamentary Committees reporting and Fiji’s Parliament education and public outreach programme.

The four day programme ends today.
