EVR centres to open up next week says Vuniwaqa

Major centres around Viti Levu and Vanua Levu will be opened next week to accomodate the Electronic Voter Registration process.

Acting Permanent Secretary for the Elections office Mere Vuniwaqa says work will begin on Tuesday and their officers on the ground will be ready to assist the public.

“The registration process itself will begin from next Tuesday. For the first week, registration will be done in the major centres only which will be Suva, Nausori, Labasa, Levuka and Taveuni.”

Vuniwaqa adds there will be other centres opening up in the rural areas by the end of next week.

“There will be extra centres that will be set up for other centres in the coming weekend. From Friday on, people will know of other centres opening up .”

Vuniwaqa adds that they have identified over 1000 voter registrations centres.
