Every country has laws which needs to be followed while covering the General Election.

Media Industry Development Authority chair, Ashwin Raj has highlighted that whether it is an international media or local media they all must abide by the same set of rules.

Raj says at times people get into arguments which are easily caught by political critics.

“So here we are saying that we abide by the rule of law and this is what the rule actually is saying. Then they will turn and say oh there is no rule in Fiji we rule by law.”

Raj adds this is one reason when people turn to social media and start criticizing about governance and human rights records of the country.
