Evan creates havoc in West

December 17, 2012 8:28 am

The entire western division has been affected by Tropical Cyclone Evan over the past few hours.

Commissioner Western Commander Joeli Cawaki says reports coming in so far suggest the west has not been spared.

“Cyclone Evan has created havoc in Western division from Ra to Nadroga. Cyclone is still in force in Lautoka and we urge all the people of Western Division – if you are in a safe place, do not move from there because very soon we will go into a tough part and you will never know what happens when cyclone comes. So we are urging people to stay where they are and we will come in to rescue you when Cyclone Evan has left the Western division. A lot of our roads are blocked and the advice to people in the evacuation centers, please use whatever food or rations you have for tonight until we come with new rations.”
