Evacuees receive food rations

Evacuees at the Nadera Methodist Church Hall received food rations from government yesterday.

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama says he has been to some evacuation centres delivering supplies and seeing what can be done to areas who have been affected by flood waters.

Bainimarama says food rations should last the evacuees a week.

He says the military will see details about the evacuees’ food rations, its delivery and distribution.

The Prime Minister also visited evacuees at Vashisht Muni College in Navua and J.N Jokhan Memorial Primary School with food rations and hygiene packs.

Bainimarama is expected to visit other evacuation centres after talks with the National Disaster Management Office.
