EU to support more statistics says Jacobs

European Union (EU) will be providing more support for collaboration of reliable and usable statistics in the Pacific region.

EU Ambassador to the Pacific Andrew Jacobs says this will be done over the next five years.

He made this comment after concerns were raised regarding the availability of reliable data in the Pacific.

“There’s going to be a lot of need for us to ensure that the statistics available are reliable and we can see what the progress is like across the Pacific as we move forward.”

Jacobs says this is important because they will need to closely monitor the Sustainable Development Goals and its progress in the Pacific.
