The European Union has rallied its support to Fiji when it assumes presidency of the Conference of the Parties 23rd meeting in Germany next month.
Speaking to FBC News this morning, the EU Commissioner for Climate Change, Miguel Canete, says he has informed the Fijian Prime Minister of their strong support.
Canete had bilateral talks with Bainimarama at the sidelines of the PreCOP meeting in Denarau yesterday.
“We are pretty sure that Fiji will have a big success dealing with this complicated COP because there are many technical things to do but of high political importance.”
The EU is providing $6.5 million to Fiji towards it’s preparation for COP23.
