Enumerators to start field work from Monday

Enumerators who are part of the 2019-2020 Household Income and Expenditure Survey will be deployed to the field from next Monday.

Fiji Bureau of Statistics, Chief Statistician Mitieli Cama says enumerators have completed a week of awareness on the study to participating households.

Cama says households have also been briefed on the confidentiality of the study and its importance.

“So they’re willing to provide those necessary information that we need and also we remind them of the confidential of the information and we also remind them that such information will be disseminated at aggregate level and no individual information will be released to the public.”

The Bureau says all enumerators will be carrying their Identification card and also a letter from police to prove their role in the one year study.

Meanwhile, HIEs is the main source of data that measures poverty.

Data collected will help the government to formulate evidence-based socio-economic policies for the betterment of all Fijians.
