Entrepreneurs receive grants

1,312 small and micro entrepreneurs today received their $1, 000 grants from government through the Micro and Small Business Grant Programme.

Handing over the grants this morning, Minister for Industry and Trade Faiyaz Koya says this brings the total number of businesses supported in Taveuni since 2015 to 2,539.

Speaking to the recipients, Koya says they have proven that they have the ability and the knowhow to undertake business

He adds, government is putting its confidence and trust in them to use the assistance appropriately.

Through the initiative, government has invested approximately $2.5million into the Taveuni economy.

To date, through a government investment of $26.4 million, the MSBG Programme has assisted 28, 004 micro and small entrepreneurs, impacting the lives of 140,020 Fijians.
