Local artists welcome virtual concert

August 11, 2020 7:40 am

Local artists say they are grateful for the opportunity to perform at the upcoming virtual concert after being impacted by COVID-19.

Renowned artist Inoke Kalounisiga or Knox says many gifted Fijian artists have had a tough few months when tourism was shuttered and large gatherings were banned.

Knox adds the virtual concert puts artists back on the forefront uniting the Pacific through music in the fight against COVID-19.

“For the artists this is also a great platform to perform especially after coming through the health crisis and working to fight the economic crisis brought on by the pandemic. It’s kind of like starting your career all over again. It will give all the artists great exposure and a way to generate new fans while doing something that is humanitarian.”

The concert will be hosted by Aunty Tala from the Laughing Samoans and will be aired live on FBC2 this Saturday.

It will also feature performances from Knox, Rako, Masti Dance Group, Nem & Talei, Skills and Australia based Paulini Curuenavuli.
