Engineers are working around the clock fix the Rarawai Sugar Mill before the crushing season begins.
Permanent Secretary for Sugar, Colonel Manasa Vaniqi says the mill suffered extensive damage after the two floods this year.
Colonel Vaniqi told FBC News the mill has been cleaned from mud and debris but the damage to some of the machinery is extensive.
He says engineers are working hard to replace damaged parts and according to the chief engineer they hope the mill will be ready before crushing starts.
However, Colonel Vaniqi says if the repairs are not complete, crushing in the Rarawai Mill area will be delayed.
