Engineers will continue to monitor and survey the MHCC complex and adjoining tower currently under construction.
The principal engineer for the site, Brian Jacob says while they found no evidence of any structural cracking, effectively declaring the property safe, they did identify some maintenance issues.
“One of the issues is that the building has been built by two different contractors 10 years apart so the new guys aren’t responsible for the old guys work and the old guys aren’t responsible for the new guys work so we just need to get to continue on and probably in a day or so we will have another view or a further view on where we’re at.”
Following a Facebook post, social media has been rife with footage of building issues over the last few weeks.
Jacob says some of those issues will need further time to investigate.
