Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has urged parents and guardians to always encourage children to work and study hard.

Bainimarama made the comments when he officially opened a new classroom building at Nawaisomo Primary school in Naitasiri yesterday.

The renovation was funded by government with the total cost of $32,000 and is the latest addition to close to $47m spent on development projects in Naitasiri.

Bainimarama says education is the right of all Fijians and parents must ensure that children are encouraged to try and reach new heights in terms of their education.

He says there is no reason why any Fijian student cannot complete high school or not go to university as fees are provided for those who meet the criteria.
