Employment Relations Advisory Board yet to meet

The Employment Relations Advisory Board is yet to meet since the International Labour Organisation Assembly in June.

Minister for Employment Jioji Konrote told FBC News talks are on-going to convene all parties to progress a joint report on labour laws.

In June, the Fiji Trade Union Congress filed an official complaint with the ILO claiming non observance of Freedom of Association and the Protection of the right to organize.

In November, the parties are expected to return to the ILO and report back on the issue or face a commission of inquiry by the international body.

ERAB constitutes the Trade Unions, the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation and the Government.
