The Employment Ministry is facing a lot of challenges with seasonal workers in Australia and New Zealand.

Minister, Jone Usamate says that one of the challenges is the workers contracts.

“We’ve had some challenges in terms of people going and completing their contracts. Sometimes they meet difficulties, sometimes it’s because we didn’t select the right people.”

Usamate adds there are more than 200 seasonal workers from Fiji currently working in New Zealand.

He reiterated they’re focusing on increasing this number but it depends on the companies demand.

The Minister says they need to strengthen their part in marketing Fijian workers.
