An aircraft taking much needed emergency supplies is expected to reach Yacata soon.

The supplies include tents, hygiene packs and food.

The island is the worst affected in the Northern Maritime region.

There are a little of fifty homes on the island, 34 were completely destroyed and 16 were partially damaged.

Only four houses sustained the Category 5 Cyclone.

The school on the island also suffered extensive damage and will not be ready when classes are expected to resume from Monday.

The island is in need to food as their crops and vegetables have been completely destroyed, when tidal waves swept into the village on the night of the disaster.

A Detailed Disaster Assessment Team will head to the island soon to carry out their work on the ground.
