Elections Office preparation

The Government has purchased 380 electronic voter registration kits costing $3.9million to begin preliminary work for the 2014 elections.

The kits will be used to register voters which will begin in July.

Sayed-Khaiyum says in the coming weeks advertisements will be put out to create awareness on the registration process.

This he says will educate the voters on the need to vote and will also inform the people on where and when they can get registered.

Sayed-Khaiyum says for those that will turn 18 by 2014 elections, arrangements will be made for them to get registered.

The Office aims to register 640, 000 people in about 8 weeks
