The Fijian Elections Office has concluded the 2017 nation-wide voter registration drive, which saw a very high amount of interest.
Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem highlighted the total number of registered voters is six hundred and sixteen thousand, five hundred and ninety, as at 25th July, this year.
Saneem also highlighted that information that is not from the Fijian Elections Office or from an authentic source must be disregarded or considered with extreme caution.
He highlighted this after some mis-information was posted on the Social Media.
Saneem says their attention has been brought to a social media issue, where a person who claims to be a chief volunteer, in a political party has compiled a table of registered voters in Fiji up to eight hundred thousand.
The Supervisor of Election stresses to all voters to verify the electoral information especially the source and is the responsibility of every stakeholder, political party, voter and every Fijian, to ensure that election information is always received, provided and supplied with utmost integrity.
