Election officials who worked on polling day have been assured that they will all get paid by the Fijian Elections Office.
Acting Director Strategic Development and Communications, Edwin Nand, says staff will be notified via text messages once salaries have been deposited in their bank accounts.
Nand says they’re in the final stages of completing payments to all election officials.
“The FEO is mindful that there are some election officials who have changed their bank details and this means we cannot execute the payment until the staff provide us with their undated bank details. WE would like to ensure that all staff receive they’re pay packages as quickly as possible and therefore we urge those with amended bank details to contact us immediately.”
Nand says election officials can contact any of their centres to make amendments.
“In the central divison, the contact number are 9984029, 8913867, 8917768 and 8493451. In the Western divison, our contact numbers are 8913868, 8917339. In the Eastern divison 8910856 and 8917758. For election officials in the Northern divison our contact number are 8910857 and 2203911. We also have contact numbers for the staff who were involved in counting, they can call 8910185, 8913769 and 8913768.”
The FEO has also revealed that nine thousand five hundred and ninety-five salaries have been processed – which is a hundred percent completion rate.
