A seventy-year-old man has died in a house fire at Corbett Avenue squatter settlement in Waila, Nausori yesterday.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says the man was alone at home at the time of the incident.

His family had gone to the West to visit family members.

The body of the man was found inside the house by police officers.

The two bedroom house was completely destroyed by fire.

Police are waiting for a report from the National Fire Authority to ascertain the cause of the fire.
