Eight classrooms burnt in fire

The National Fire Authority is trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed part of a school in Rakiraki.

Eight classrooms of the Penang Sangam School were destroyed in a fire early this morning.

Firefighters managed to stop the fire from spreading to other parts of the school.

Meanwhile quick action by the firefighters prevented a major fire at University of Fiji’s Samabula Campus.

NFA officials say the fire partly destroyed the Campus’s server room and the library.
