Eight children under the age of ten lost their lives in fatal road accidents so far this year.
This has been confirmed by Police Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra as the Force is now embarking on its operation for the festive season.
According to the statistics provided by the Force, three children were under the age of five while five were between 6 to 10 years of age.
SSP Mishra is urging parents to monitor the movements of their children as school holidays have already started.
“They must not take any chance of not supervising their children because it is an offence failing to supervise their children who are supposed to be under their custody and under their supervision.”
The total road death toll now stands at 49 compared to 61 last year.
