Israel and Egypt will also need to sign an agreement pertaining to changes for Fijian peacekeepers in Sinai.

The contingent working in Sinai can expect changes in their deployment routine as advised by Multinational Force and Observers Director General David Satterfield.

Acting Commander of the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto says the discussions are being held at the highest level of the MFO.

‘’They also talked about the volatile situation in Sinai and the risks and what they put in place to mitigate the risks that our troops are in and providing in as much as protection as they can .You know risks in those kinds of places we can minimise it but we can’t eliminate altogether’’.

Naupoto says this has been done for the safety of the peacekeepers and plans have already been drafted.
