In a bid to ensure reliability and security of power supply in the Central Division, Energy Fiji Limited will be carrying out maintenance work on a transmission line on Sunday.

EFL Chief Executive Hasmukh Patel says the transmission line carries power from the EFL’s Wailoa Power Station to Cunningham Road.

Patel says it will take approximately 16 hours to complete the maintenance.

“In the event we have operational problems on any of our diesel sets at the three power stations then some customers could be affected.”

He says during the maintenance EFL will supply power from their diesel stations to avoid a blackout.
