The University of the South Pacific should be proud of its achievements says President Major General Retired Jioji Konrote.
He says in the past 50-years more than 60,000 students from the Pacific region have been educated at the regional institution and they now contribute positively to their communities.
The President says as USP celebrates 50 years of service, they also celebrate the success of their graduates.
“The university continues to perform very well in attaining its vision of attaining excellence and innovation for sustainable development of the Pacific Island Countries. USP should also be proud of its achievements especially in education women and girls.”
At the University’s 50th anniversary closing dinner event in Suva yesterday, President Konrote noted the event marked excellence and is reflective of the success of the Pacific Region.
He says many leaders of the region attended the university and are now contributing to the social and economic development of their nation.
