July 12, 2019 6:33 am

The late arrival of designated vehicles to transport students to school is an issue raised by students in Tailevu North.

Infrastructure Minister Jone Usamate says it’s alleged that students waited for hours for transport to go to school.

Usamate says some students reached school after the first period due to the late of transportation and he will raise the issue with the Land Transport Authority to address it.

“We have also noticed some issues that we have with school kids still waiting by the road when they should have already be in school, so that is something that we will raise with LTA to look at the buses. They are being picked up by the buses or the vans that were supposed to get them because we want kids to be at school on time.”

Usamate says it’s the responsibility of the designated transportation to be on time in transporting students to schools.
