Nabunobuno told the AG that this is an issue in the school system as corporal punishment has been removed due to international conventions.

He recommended that the Education Ministry employ Professional Counsellors.

Agreeing to this, Sayed-Khaiyum says there is a shortage of counselors in schools to perform counselling for students and corporal punishment was abolished for a reason.

He also urged parents and guardians to provide proper advice to their children.
