Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has finally set the record straight on speculations that there will be no free education next year.
Bainimarama says this is not true as the Free Education Initiative will continue under the FijiFirst government.
Speaking to the village of Cautata in Tailevu, Bainimarama re-iterated that education remains this government’s priority.
“That’s why I was very disappointed to see false rumors being spread on social media about school fees and being even more disappointed to hear of this rumors that led to low turnout to schools on 23rd September, I urged you to stop listening to empty threats and unfounded lies.”
The Prime Minister says the government will do whatever it takes to ensure quality education is provided to all students.
Bainimarama also took a swipe at the blatant lies spread by other political parties saying they should be mindful of what they post on social media because all Fijians deserve to know the truth especially our children.
Bainimarama says the government will continue to deliver what’s best for all Fijians.
