There have been gaps in terms of the infrastructure and students accommodation at the Fiji National University.
However, Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says FNU is still a viable University option for students not just in Fiji but also from within the region.
Sayed-Khaiyum adds in the last count there were almost 1000 students from outside Fiji attending FNU.
“In respect of the FNU library it’s now available online. People now don’t go physically in the library it’s available online and to help the course we have funded internet. We have also provided all the FNU campuses throughout Fiji a wifi hotspot and this has helped the students to.”
Education Minister Rosy Akbar says there were complaints from students in regards to the quality of lecturers, therefore, 30 local academic staff were enrolled to pursue further studies and upgrade their qualification in 2016.
