Minister for Economy has stressed the need to change the status quo- in the manner people interact, travel and conduct business.

Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum highlighted this while addressing Year 13 students of Natabua High School, updating them on how the government has re-focused to meet the challenges brought on by COVID-19.

The Minister says the Economic Recovery Framework sets out all the plans and details of how to deal with and work around the ongoing pandemic.

“But if there is no vaccine for the next six months, one year, two years or three years, the way we interact with each other, the way we do business, the way we travel and the manner in which we travel and the conditions in which we travel will all have to be recalibrated, need to be relooked at. Amidst all of this, we as a government need to ensure that people like yourselves when you finish high school and go to university we have opportunities for you.”

Sayed-Khaiyum also encouraged the final year students to enter professions they are passionate about rather than one they are being coerced into or simply following the crowd.
