One hundred and twenty-four children living in informal settlements around Vatuwaqa, Suva have been assisted with school stationaries.

The packages includes books, pens, crayons, book covers, and bags with water bottles.

Minister Mereseini Vuniwaqa believes that assisting these children is one of the best investment a government can make.

Vuniwaqa stressed that while the government is providing free tuition, bus fares, text books, the onus is on the parents to step up to their responsibility in ensuring that they complement what government is trying to do through these initiatives.
