Education is the key to promote sustainable development and eradicate poverty says Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar.

Speaking to communities in Navua, Akbar says the Fijian government is committed to ensuring that every child in Fiji has access to education.

‘’You are aware that the government is spending a lot of money into educating our children from pre-school to secondary education to tertiary education. A lot of responsibility that you normally have now has been taken care of by the government’’.

Akbar also reminded teachers and parents on the important role and responsibility they play in moulding the lives of children.

She was speaking at the annual prize giving ceremony at Vashist Muni Primary School in Navua yesterday.
