‘’This will be the national council for school managers of Fiji. We’ll have direct interaction with them, we will have quarterly newsletters, we’ll run workshop for them, up skill them, train them. This is arising out of the issues that we’ve seen of the last 13 months being the Minister. One is the use of the free education grant. We need to work closely with management to ensure that the funds are going to the right place and unfortunately when the funds were disbursed we didn’t prepare the Managers well. Their thinking, their ideology and in terms of understanding that the money belongs to the school system’’.

Dr Reddy says the set up of the National Council for School Managers will streamline and enhance cooperation as well as address reports of some school heads not working together with the school management.

Dr Reddy will meet with school managers in Seaqaqa and Bua tomorrow.
