Education Ministry to embark on major reforms

The Education Ministry is embarking on major reforms which are focused on content review, effective delivery of teachers, infrastructure development and parental encouragement.

Permanent Secretary, Iowane Tiko says this is to ensure grooming of vibrant and dynamic individuals that will steer Fiji to greater heights.

During the induction of 56 prefects at Queen Victoria School in Tailevu today, Tiko says they need an educated population and a cultural generation of visionary leaders.

He says it is becoming more obvious that Fiji needs leaders who have the heart and the skills of creating vibrant and engaging communities that can establish a common ground between our traditions and that of the modern world.

Meanwhile, newly elected head boy Josua Qio says he plans to maintain discipline within the school and also ensure QVS does academically well throughout the year.
