Government is expected to increase funding for the education sector in next year’s budget.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says being armed with a good education background is the answer to challenges brought about by rapid global development.

“We will invest more in education. We will continue to support our teachers and we will build a stronger partnership between government and independent schools so that we can continue to promote the acquisition of knowledge and skills.”

The increase in funding is to improve education facilities and services in the country.
