The Duavata Northern Carnival in Labasa ended on a high last night.

Miss Taveuni Elena Ramabuke won the main title of Miss Duavata 2015, the 1st runner up was Miss Saqani, Torika Maibauraco and 2nd runner up was Miss Labasa Mary Angeline Naidu.

The week-long festival was a joint effort between police and the community to promote better relations and reduce crime.

Chief Guest, Minister for Local Government, Praveen Bala says the festival is a commendable idea.

“The friendly north should also be a crime free north, it is never too late and we know from experience, that only through police and the community partnership, which we can tackle and prevent crime.”

Josefa Ravula – Mr. Tanoa Electrical was crowned King Duavata 2015.
