Dry run for ADB’s Board of Governors meeting tomorrow

A dry run for the 52nd Asian Development Bank’s annual Board of Governors meeting will be held tomorrow in Nadi.
Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service Ministry, Bernadette Welch says the run is being carried out to test the logistics with more than 3000 expected to attend the event.
Welch adds delegations will begin arriving in the country tomorrow while the ADB staff is already here.
“The dry run is a multi-agency exercise which is happening tomorrow. We will be test our readiness and looking into how we can move our motorcade from different locations and test where there are areas of congestion and narrow down where we can iron out any last issues we can identify.”
Welch says the preparations are well underway with marquees being installed and signage on hotels, airports and theme billboards going up as well.
68 ADB member countries will be gathering over four days in Nadi for numerous sessions, debates and discussion.
Among the key issues up for discussion at the meeting will be Climate Change, Ocean Health and renewable energy to name a few.
The ADB meeting in Nadi starts next Wednesday and runs through Sunday.
