Financial Intelligence Unit Director Razim Buksh confirms that drug trafficking continues to be the leading crime trend for Fiji.

In an interview with FBC News, Buksh says that the FIU and the Fiji Police Force are constantly working together to curb the crime.

He also says tax evasion and online scams rate as the second-highest threats.

“We have seen the tax evasion issues always on the radar, so he FIU provides timely information to FRCS for tax evasion cases as well we have seen the continuation of business email compromise which is a form internet base scam where we see business a being scammed for and lose a substantial amount of money”

Buksh says they have also linked up with regional law enforcement agencies to provide assistance on suspect cases.
