The Fiji Police Force has urged drivers to take necessary precautions as visibility on our roads are very poor with the heavy rain currently experienced in most parts of the country.

Police Acting Chief of Operations, ACP Maretino Qiolevu says the Force has deployed its officers along the Lautoka and Ba corridor in the western division and some drivers are found to be driving irresponsibly.

ACP Maretino says they also have team of officers on standby and will be deployed if the current weather situation continues.

Officers have already deployed to visit flood prone areas to ensure the safety of
the public.

He adds that all warnings, advisories and visitation will be of no use if people continue to swim or cross affected areas.
