Speaking to FBC News, Central Transport bus driver Shiek Abdullah says the company is not offering what was initially discussed.

“The drivers are not coming to work because of the company. If they could have increased the wages, the drivers here. We already told them to increase our wages. The company told us the increment will come with increased income. The income has increased, but our pay is the same.

Meanwhile, Minister for Employment Parveen Kumar says the strike is illegal and the Ministry is doing everything possible to resolve this issue.

Kumar says he will be meeting with the bus company and the drivers tomorrow.

Meanwhile, LTA Chief Executive Samuel Simpson has called on drivers to return to work.

Simpson says the company has breached their operating license.

Meanwhile, numerous efforts made by FBC News to get a comment from the Central Transport Limited has remained futile.
