The driver that was involved in an accident in Savusavu over the weekend is yet to be questioned by police.

He was discharged from hospital with his wife and 8-month-year old daughter earlier this week.

A 69-year-old woman who was also involved in the accident passed away while she was being taken to the Labasa Hospital.

It’s alleged the vehicle she was traveling in veered off the road near the Waisali Hill in Lomaloma.

The driver was the victim’s son.

The family was traveling from Savusavu heading to Bua to spend the weekend when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle at a bend on a hill, causing it to veer off to the right side of the road before hitting a rock causing the vehicle to tumble upside down.

Investigations continue.
