A 54-year-old driver of a truck that hit a 13-year-old boy in Lautoka is expected to be charged with dangerous driving.

The accident occurred on the corner of Drasa Avenue and Dravuni Street on Friday last week.

The teenager was hit by the truck while using the pedestrian crossing.

Police Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra says the boy remains in a critical condition.

SSP Mishra is advising the public to be more vigilant on the roads.
