Drive carefully in bad weather: Police

The Fiji Police Force is advising motorists to be cautious and vigilant on the roads in light of the current spell of bad weather.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says this follows two serious accidents in the Southern Division that have landed in two people in hospital.

A 22-year-old woman is admitted at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital after she was bumped by a vehicle in Tamavua, Suva last night.

The victim was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing when she was bumped by a vehicle which investigators are still trying to locate.

In the second incident, a police officer was bumped by a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man at Namelimeli, Queens Road last night.

The officer was walking beside the road when he was allegedly bumped by the vehicle.

He is still receiving medical treatment and the driver will be questioned once all necessary reports are compiled.
